About IOHSAD

The Institute for Occupational Health and Safety Development (IOHSAD) is a non-profit and independent institution engaged in assisting Filipino workers develop comprehensive and self-reliant occupational health and safety programs. It is a resource center in the field of OSH issues and concerns affecting workers in various industries and provides support in building occupational safety and health committees among workers in their workplaces and communities.

Our Roots

June 1982 to Late 1987

  • IOHSAD as the factory-based Primary Health Care Program under the Council for Primary Health Care. During this period, its primary focus was preventive health care in workplaces.

March 1988

  • IOHSAD was formally established with a clear institutional mission—to attain just, safe and humane workplaces for the Filipino workers.

To protect and uphold workers’ occupational health and safety rights and to promote comprehensive OSH programs towards the attainment of a just, safe and humane working environment.

Our Vision

IOHSAD envisions a just, democratic, and sovereign society where Filipino workers live free from poverty and exploitation.

National wealth and resources are harnessed to uplift the people, while industrialization advances genuine nationalist development, protects the environment, and ensures sustainable progress for future generations.
